Features of Proximity Sensors

Inspection Distance

Omch’s proximity switches can accurately detect changes or differences from a distance, making them useful for vehicle collision prevention, valve control, and other purposes.

Dimensional Control

Due to their capability to scan through the dimensions of multiple objects, our proximity switches function well for both sheet metal punching sears and automatic loading.

Detection of Anomalies

Bottle caps testing, reviewing lacking pieces on containers, and distinguishing metal and non-metal parts on products are some of the other tasks our proximity switches can handle.

Speed Control

With proper calibration, our proximity switches can monitor and control the speed of conveyors, rotating machinery, and the number of revolutions on pulse generators.

Counting and Control

Thanks to their precise sensing, our proximity switches can accurately handle counting tasks, measuring the revolution of high-speed discs and rotary axes with ease.

Detection of the Presence of Objects

Our proximity sensors can accurately detect the presence of parts or boxes on packaging lines.

Object of Identification

Proximity sensors can identify the code on carriers to determine if it passes or fails a test based on given parameters.

Transmission of Information

ASI connects sensors at various locations and transmits data across the sensors within 50 to 100 meters of the production line.

01 What are Proximity Sensors?

Proximity switches are position switches that work by generating a field that detects objects passing through the field, essentially functioning without direct contact with moving parts. They boast several features, including quick responses, long service life, and anti-interference qualities, which makes them a preferred proximity sensor option for many industries.

The proximity switch belongs to the category of non-contact switch sensors. It combines the features of a travel switch and micro switch, with the added advantage of sensing capability. It offers dependable operation, stability, rapid response, extended service life, strong resistance to interference, and is designed to be waterproof, shockproof, and corrosion-resistant.

As a dedicated proximity sensor manufacturer, we specialize in designing and engineering a wide range of quality proximity sensors. Our product range encompasses inductive proximity switches, capacitive proximity switches, hall sensors, and both AC and DC types.

02 Types of Proximity Sensors

The innovation in sensor manufacturing technology has given room to a wide variety of sensors for different functions, with each type covering a specific task or unique requirements. Some of these include inductive sensors, capacitive sensors, and ultrasonic sensors, hall sensors, and both AC and DC types.

Please let us know the item part, specifications, or drawings of the products you require, and we will strive to provide the most suitable proximity sensors for your needs. If we do not have proximity sensors that meet your requirements, we can explore the possibility of custom manufacturing to assist you.

03 How it Works

A proximity switch is a non-contact switch, meaning it can scan through objects even at a distance. By generating an invisible field and detecting any changes in objects that go through the field, proximity switches can quickly and efficiently determine any irregularities that can affect the final product’s quality and performance.

A proximity sensor is an industrial device that identifies objects nearby. It operates like a binary sensor, typically yielding either a 0 or 1 output. These sensors are categorized into inductive and capacitive types based on their operating principles.

Inductive Proximity Sensor Working Principle

Inductive Proximity Sensor Working Principle

An inductive proximity sensor functions by producing an electromagnetic field. When a metal object enters its detection area, it disturbs this field, resulting in an alteration of the sensor’s output, indicating the object’s existence. These sensors find frequent application in industrial environments.

Capacitive Proximity Sensor Working Principle

The working principle of a Capacitive Proximity Sensor involves the generation of an electrostatic field by the sensor’s electrode. When an object enters the sensor’s detection range, it changes the capacitance of the sensor’s electrode due to its dielectric properties. This change in capacitance is detected by the sensor, which then produces an output signal to indicate the presence of the object. Capacitive Proximity Sensors are commonly used for non-metallic object detection and can be found in various industrial applications.

Capacitive Proximity Sensor Working Principle

Magnetic Proximity Sensors Working Principle

Magnetic Proximity Sensors Working Principle

Magnetic proximity sensors detect changes in magnetic fields caused by the presence or absence of ferrous (magnetic) objects. They generate a magnetic field and monitor it for disturbances. When a ferrous object enters the sensor’s active area, it disrupts the magnetic field, and the sensor detects this change, converting it into an electrical signal to trigger actions or provide feedback. Magnetic proximity sensors are commonly used for non-contact detection of metal objects in applications such as object presence detection, position sensing, and security systems.

04 Applications of Proximity Sensors

As proximity sensors work by emitting a field and detecting changes on an object as it passes the field, they see great use in automation and safety setups. From counting systems and automated machines to inspection machines in food preparation, our proximity sensors can elevate any production line. They play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency, safety, and convenience across diverse industries.

As a top-quality proximity sensor supplier, we are committed to offering high-quality alternative products compatible with major brands of proximity sensors. With our strong designing and engineering capabilities, we can assist you in customizing premium proximity sensor products tailored to your industry needs.
